The energy from the sun rays (solar energy) can be harnessed to produce electricity with a device as solar cells or a photovoltaic cell or solar panels. These panels are located in such a manner that they should be mounted perpendicular to the arc of the sun to maximize its usefulness.
Then after this it is the panel is connected to the inverter which is then wired to the building. The inverter is a device which transforms the DC (direct current) to AC (alternative current). The reason for converting the direct current into alternating current is to enable the energy to be used by various home appliances just the way you power your electronics with normal electricity.
Thus solar technology is increasing at a great pace due to its eco-friendly nature. It has nearly doubled up since 2000 as compared to the year 2014. Furthermore, the solar energy is being considered a good alternative in both developed and developing countries. In a country like India, it has expanded up to nearly 8 times from 2014 to 2018.Solar energy is a great factor in initiating rural electrification in India, as India had set a target of nearly 5000 villages to be electrified in its five-year plan of 2004-2007.India has approximately sold or distributed around 1.2 million solar home lighting kits and about 3.2 million solar lanterns, thus making it Asia’s top market for off grid solar products.
Thus, solar energy is helping up lighting the path of India’s electrification by an inexhaustible natural source without disturbing the natural ecosystem and biodiversity, while also reducing our dependence on generating power from the fossil fuels. Moreover, the return on investment in solar energy is very attractive in the current scenario.
